How can a TBCharge be wired?
TBCharge chargers are supplied with an isolating transformer, similar to those commonly used within shaver socket installations, making them suitable for bathroom environments when installed correctly.
There are several ways a TBCharge may be connected depending on the existing electrical installation.
Option 1: Replacing an Existing Shaver Socket
Where an existing shaver socket is present, this is often the simplest installation method.
The existing shaver socket can be removed and replaced with the TBCharge, reusing the existing supply where suitable.
Option 2: Connection to an Existing Lighting Circuit
Where no shaver socket is present, a supply may be taken from a suitable bathroom lighting circuit, subject to local wiring regulations and assessment by the installer.
This is often a practical solution where a permanent power supply is required and an existing lighting circuit is available nearby.
Option 3: Connection to an Existing Socket Circuit
A supply may also be taken from a suitable socket circuit where permitted by local regulations and installed with appropriate protection.
The method of installation should be determined by a qualified electrician.
Important
- All electrical work should comply with the applicable local electrical regulations.
- Appropriate circuit protection should be provided.
- Installation should be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician.
- If you are unsure about any aspect of the installation, consult a qualified electrician or another person knowledgeable in local electrical regulations before proceeding.
